Madrid Magic

There is something rather wonderful about escaping everyday life for a few days with good friends.

No schedules to keep, no responsibilities waiting around the corner. Just long breakfasts, leisurely lunches, beautiful streets to wander through and plenty of time for laughter and conversation.

Madrid turned out to be the perfect place for exactly that.

We spent our days discovering little cafés, enjoying delicious food, stopping for a glass of wine and occasionally a rather generous gin and tonic. And, of course, taking far too many photographs.

But looking back, it's not really the restaurants or the places I remember most. It's the conversations, the laughter and those lovely, spontaneous moments that happen when you're travelling with people you feel completely at ease with.

Sometimes the best trips are simply about being together.

Three friends, a sunny day in Madrid and plenty of reasons to smile. Little moments like these make the best memories.

Breakfast at Federal Café

One of the places we had been recommended before our trip was Federal Café, apparently one of Madrid's most popular breakfast spots at the time. And of course, we had to see what all the fuss was about!

A lovely, relaxed atmosphere, delicious coffee, freshly squeezed juices and a breakfast table filled with tempting little dishes.

I love discovering places like this when travelling. Sitting around a table with good friends, enjoying a long, leisurely breakfast while the city slowly comes to life outside.

Such a lovely way to start another day in Madrid.

Madrid, you were wonderful.

Beautiful streets, delicious food, long conversations and so much laughter.

A few days away with good friends is sometimes all it takes to come home with new energy and a suitcase full of happy memories.

Until next time!

With love,
